Logo Experiments

So after a lovely two weeks from Christmas, our first week back we were introduced to Adobe Illustrator. We were challenged to replicant the Nike tick logo, which is very uniquely structured. I started with the font. I changed the style to Futura Condensed Extra bold to copy the nike characteristics. I used 'alt' button in between the letters to make the space smaller. Object, Transfer, Sheer, 25% to change the angel. To create the tick I broke down the shape in my head; so the ends of the tick looks like a triangle. One curved one straight, I then built the middle with a triangle again, and placed in a anchor and curved the lines.

The apple logo, I again simple broke the the image into shapes. Two oval shapes made the apple outline. Using the Pathfinder I united the shapes together and blocked them into black. Using the Circle shape tool I created the size 'bite' I wanted in the apple, then minus fonted the shape to 'minus' the shape.
Pathfinder

These are the four basic steps of the pathfinder. This helps create shapes such as the nike logo sign and the club shapes below.

I used basic shapes to create the club set. The diamond was made from triangles and was easier to create with a grid as a background. The heart was made from a. traingle and to small triangles, to with I placed two anchors to curve the lines and make a top of a heart shape. I continued the shape structure with the two others.
