These are some brief notes on ethical views. And COO. Company of Origin. We learnt about the brands being exposed using slavely production for OUR garments in our fast throw away fashion world today. The problematic views. As well as the targeted less developed countries that suffer. Strangely I left this lecture not being able to trust anyone. Anyones voice or speeches. Learning the corners cut from brands to allow you too see through there frosty glass seems a blurred bright coloured, however is blurred bright colours piled in landfills. They make us see what they want us too see.

Just to add:

This is so terrible I could laugh. 'COO' standing for country of origin, something that techniqually is effects everyone/thing is the world today, Our planet, world/home.That when short termed typed into the internet google suggest 'COOL' as another option. Seriously. I feel as though, this is part of our problem and honestly reflects society. (Out of interest I just started tried to type in a slang word ). When a slang world is types into the internet, before even finishing typing it, the word is already suggested for you. How can we change when we are not educated?

The True Cost

One of the most powerful, emotionally shifting documentry I have ever watched. Peoples lives being exposed, damaged, destroyed, cut short for our Forever 21 deal shirt for a fiver. I've never felt so helpless, and powerless to these poor peoples lives, what WE put them throw, what they face, who they face, what their pain feels. Watching this film, I felt a rapid amount of emotions. Anger, pain, sadness, loneliness, helpless, lost, selfishness. And self reflective views on my actions towards clothes. I have always appreciated a garment, always believe its worth more than it is as I believe in the beauty within it. However the compulsiveness of how much I buy is strongly impacted on these peoples lives. I never truly realised what entailed within the garments I wear.

Its WRONG. I feel like I have so much to say. I believe clothes/ materials should be respected and appreciated as they would become more of a treasurable item, instead of a throw away trend. It reflects society today. whats new. whats next. Bordem, selfishness. We don't appreciate the time of others, nature, the world, hard work.No one cares about each other. I have come to realise the older I get the more I see how heartless some people can think and be. The actions people take, its all about getting to the top, trampling on others to get there weather they are your friends or not. That within itself I hold onto the hope that the actions of these people wont get anywhere because of there actions and views towards the world and themselves. Kindness is a fortune. Really. Cheesy yes, but I don't ever believe and will always believe kindness is the key to happiness, success, love, friendship, and good fortune.

I believe that The people in 'power' (money/Non-COO brands), custermors need to see/experience and appreciate the wok into the things they buy. We do it to ourselves. We put the perfect clean egg on the shelve for scrambled eggs in the morning, but when do you ever see the labour? the chicken in cramped conditions living for not even a quarter of its life and we pump injective fluids to make them grow quicker, never seeing the light of day. Is that what you think when you buy an egg? no. Thats not what people think when they buy a top, or a pair of new jeans. Some are not aware. To understand and feel the positions of these third world countries we need to see it, feel it. be there. Experience it. We need to stop and think. Why are we going so fast? Does this result down to mental issue views, pressure on society today? Adrenaline, we work so quickly like we can't stop or slow down because the world doesn't want to think?

Like I said about trampling on others the get to the top. Thats what we are doing. We are taking advantage of the disadvantage to be able to get higher profits. The are the true hearts that we scar and don't care if we hurtt. They are the ones that should have the gold, beautiful houses. Good, honest people. They are forced to work in these conditions; collapsing buildings, unsafe work areas, hot conditions, because there are no other options. Nothing or blood? Which one do you take? This is not only the workers lives, its there families, their children. Ever heard of the ripple affect? The suffering from one in a billion family's story.

Bangladesh incident, a tragic incident where a thousands voices weren't loud enough. A manufacturing building, were workers continuously warned bosses, managers about the crumbling walls, cracks across ceilings, despite the other horrid conditions of extreme heat, dehydrations, cramped conditions, un unimaginable amount of health and safety hazards. The workers were forced back into the building. To there dismay collapse, killing thousand.Screams of pain from family members holding onto the ones last bit of hope they have for there Loves one to be found. It's not just the workers either its the fabrics shipped to the manufactories. Chemicals cause from an ORGANIC cotton farm, lead to a teenage long relationship to break as the husband died from cancer caused by the chemicals working on the cotton farm at the age of 47. Its not the 1800's. Thats too young. Would we ever dream of allowing our family to work in these conditions, ourselves? human rights surely? slavery surely? why isn it for them?

I believe the brands should be forced to visit manufacturing sites, and be forced to see the conditions that there workers are working in. To be able to solve a problem you have to be able to see the problem, and we can't see the problem because we aren't being exposed to it. Or simple don't care. What does that say about society today? Throw away fashion? throw away everything. I have so much to write about about so many more thoughts and views and I could probably right a book. Concluding my views. My heart honestly bleeds for these people, it pleads for there freedom, their rights, their families, I plead for them to one day feel happiness. Something everyone should already have when we start in this world. I plead of our new generation to view the delicacy in the world, in nature, in society, see the values and hard work in what they earn so it doesn't become 'throw away'. don't be forced upon by Advertisement and be allowed to make our own decisions in life. Simplistic life is no longer value, love is no longer valued, life is no longer valued. Why isn't that sad to anyone anymore? I hope people become educated to the, our problems and the world finally works as a team and become equal to helping one another. What a beautiful place it could be.

Some notes drafted whilst watching the film - Green squares/highlighted areas indicate my views and thoughts.
